First off, April 6, 2019, Ufotable released their new anime Demon Slayer based on the manga Kimetsu no Yaiba by Koyoharu Gotōge.

Kimetsu no Yaiba: Demon Slayer makes its worldwide premiere on Ufotable on April 6, 2019. To find out if this show is truly worth binge-watching, continue reading.

Plot

Based on the original manga back in 2016, staring the main protagonist Tanjiro Kamado. Having his own family slaughtered by demons, his last, remaining, little sister has turned into a demon.

Traumatized by the sight, he strives to survive on this journey, becoming a swordsman (to find the people/demons who killed his family) and find a cure for his sister.

Along with two other Demon Corps. members (the swordsman program that “slays demons” that Tanjiro, himself, is in too) as well as some other reliable friends and mentors.

Besides, I must add, I love the fact each villain that Tanjiro defeats, gets a sense of closure, with their past lives explaining why the became the monster they are now.

That you almost feel sorry for the demons themselves, knowing that their actions and murders can’t be forgiven. It’s unlike any other anime or show that I’ve ever seen, which is one of the reasons why I enjoy it.

Animation

Honestly, upon watching the anime for the first time, I thought the animation style was beautiful and unique. With fight scenes that resembled Japanese styled paintings.

The CG based animation does help bring the anime to a new light, that the manga can’t illustrate alone.

With fascinating camera movement and beautifully designed characters. Also, can I just say that I love Nezuko’s character design. Like she is a demon, but her personality is so cute and such a badass at the same time.

But to be honest, I love every characters’ design in the show, it is so unique and pretty, adding that sense of realism to them.

Again?

With the show still currently airing, I’m already rewatching some old episodes to past time while I’m waiting for the next episode to come out. So yeah, I’d say the show would be great to rewatch and doesn’t feel repetitive at all.

Also, I do look forward to the theme song and their OST (Original Soundtrack) in every episode because it’s so good.

Newcomers

Whether you’re new to anime or the shonen genre, Kimetsu no Yaiba: Demon Slayer is definitely a must-watch if you’re interested in the plot.

However, the show does contain some gory, violent, and bloody scenes, so if you’re not comfortable with that, you should NOT watch this show.

Also, if you’re looking for a slight romance, I’m not sure you’ll find anything canon, but maybe some fan-made ships online.

Ultimately, if you like, action-based shows, a good plotline, character development and is fine with gore and no romance, then this show is for you.
