Olivia Rodrigo, 18 year old actress and singer with her latest hit single “good 4 u” received over 35 million views over the course of only 5 days! Followed by her other two previous successful releases, “drivers license” and “deja vu”. 

Although most of her fans will more easily recognize her from her previous and ongoing shows on Disney Channel, like “Bizaardvark” and “High School Musical: The Musical”. However, these two shows have unfortunately received much backlash in the Disney Channel community, especially High School Musical: The Musical, with many fans calling it an “unnecessary copy” of the first series, simply with a new cast.  

Yet, despite what many would see as a “decline”, Olivia was able to turn her entire career around when Disney failed her. Turning to a more musical sense in which she can convey her emotions and passion in songwriting, as seen in one of her biggest inspirations, Taylor Swift. Even performing her song “drivers license” at the Brit Awards 2021, which can be a very nerve-wracking experience, especially for a newcomer. But through it all, she still delivered a fantastical performance despite all of that pressure. Potentially following in the footsteps of previously successful Disney actresses: Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato who all become successful singers in their lifetime. 

Olivia Rodrigo is an inspiration for everyone, showing that even if your career may have some unexpected “declines” it is never too late to take the opportunity to turn their entire life around through hardwork and determination.
